Indoor Air Quality Meter

Cooking smoke sends PM2.5 shooting up. This meter shows it live on an OLED and on your phone, and tells you to open a window.

Indoor Air Quality Meter
Kids OK, with an adult

DIY project. Children must build this only with an adult (16+ years) beside them at all times. Not suitable for children under 8 years.

The official AQI is a 24-hour average; this meter shows live readings.

Strictly follow the description given with this video.

Video

The video link will be added here soon.

How it works

  1. A laser dust sensor counts fine particles and reports PM2.5 over serial.
  2. The ESP32 shows the number, the India AQI band and a bar on the OLED.
  3. Its own web page (airmeter.local) shows a colour gauge and a short chart on your phone.
  4. Above 120 a red banner says to open a window.
