LiDAR Smart Cane
One LiDAR looks ahead for poles, another looks down for potholes, and the handle vibrates before you step.

Kids OK, with an adult
DIY project. Children must build this only with an adult (16+ years) beside them at all times. Not suitable for children under 8 years.
Use a vibration motor module with its own driver, never a bare motor on a GPIO pin. This is a learning project, not a certified mobility aid.
Strictly follow the description given with this video.
Video
The video link will be added here soon.
How it works
- The front LiDAR measures the distance to obstacles ahead.
- The ground LiDAR learns the normal ground distance at start-up.
- Ground more than 20 cm farther than normal means a drop or pothole.
- The vibration motor module buzzes in the handle to warn you.
