DIY project. Children must build this only with an adult (16+ years) beside them at all times. Not suitable for children under 8 years.

How it works

  1. The reed switch sits in the door frame and the magnet on the bolt.
  2. Only when the bolt slides out (locked) does the magnet reach the reed.
  3. A switch on the door edge would only tell you closed, not locked.
  4. The ESP32 answers /status through a chat bot, from anywhere.
